 We want to congratulate our dear colleague and friend Gerry on her recent retirement from Shear Serenity. Gerry has served our community so well for many years and has taken great care of her clients. In the salon, Gerry has kind of been our "mom"! We will miss her smiles and laughter and kindness (and many delicious baked treats!). We know she will enjoy spending more time with her daughter and on her many craft projects. Gerry, you are loved and will be missed! Happy retirement!

Our holiday season will look different this year, like everything else in 2020! However, some things will stay the same. We all want to look and feel good and our stylists at Shear Serenity can help! A new color, some sparkling highlights, or a fresh cut will help you stay merry. We also offer gift certificates and special deals on salon products that make great gifts. Be sure to call early to schedule your holiday season services. We hope to see you soon and we hope you have a beautiful, safe, and happy holiday with your family! We are all getting used to our "new normal" here at Shear Serenity. Even though we wish we could see your faces under your masks, it is great to be back connecting with our clients in our chairs. We are still taking all our safety precautions very seriously. As we head into colder weather, we will ask you to wait in your car and call to let us know you are here. We are working hard to space out bookings carefully so you don't have to wait long! Cold and flu will be here soon too, so remember to call us to reschedule if you are not feeling well for any reason. We love our community and we want to see you all stay safe, healthy, AND beautiful!
Jerri Ann and Dawn recently took a road trip to the DC area to attend a national hair show. Besides having a lot of fun traveling together and seeing the sights in and around DC, we came home with lots of new ideas for your hair. We learned about current trends in color, cuts, and styles. We saw new techniques and products. One of the highlights was learning about men's hair and beard styles and techniques. Next time you're in, ask Jerri and Dawn for some fresh new ideas for your look!      One of our passions at Shear Serenity is taking care of our seniors. In addition to our regular salon we also have Shear Serenity Salon at Brookdale. Housed within Brookdale Senior Living Community in Novi, we have a special small salon just for the senior residents there. We are open there on Thursday and Friday only but we provide all salon services. The residents there look forward to seeing us and we love the opportunity to help them look their best. Residents don't need to worry about transportation or weather because we bring the salon to them!  We recently did the hair of a beautiful wedding party. We started with beachy waves, a very popular look for special events. We also incorporated some loose, romantic braids into each girl's unique hairstyle. We can take our "show on the road" and meet you at your venue or we can bring your party into the salon.  Shear Serenity recently hosted Girl Scout Troop 75684 from Sarah Banks Middle School for their first ever Diva Night. We had so much fun with these beautiful girls and their leaders! The girls learned about skin care and nail care and got manicures. They learned how to keep their hair healthy and clean and how to use hair tools like straightening and curling irons safely. The girls each received a goody bag with mini makeup kits and they got a lesson in how to apply makeup to enhance their natural beauty. Their troop brought in dinner and ate together while we learned, played, and had a wonderful time. We would love to plan a custom "girls night" event for your group.
